Symo published a pamphlet in which ho accused tlio Commissioner of encouraging perjury and blackmail and tyrannising' over subordinates. . ■,""- .• • Accused, who conducted his own defence, alleged blackmail and tyranny. He flouted tho presiding' Judge (Lord Coloridge) and the jury, alleging that the latter was packed. , ' _ In his'summing up, Mr. Justice Coleridge eaidHho case disclosed tho higher police authorities' scrupulous fairness and untiring caro in dealing with complaints. No police administration in tho world could emerge from such charges 'freor from suspicion.
