SUBURBAN TRAINS
■ SHOULD RUN TO LAMBTON. Two remits dealing with suburban trains were considered 'at the Conference of Local Bodies and Chambers of Commerce yesterday! ' The first was moved by Mr. O. Jerusalem (Johnsonville) as fpllpws :—: • . "That , the .following be broiKfht under tho notice of the Minister of B&ilwayn— The iirgent necessity for running the trains arriving at the Thorndon Station at 7.35 and 8.45 a.m. to Lambton Station. Starting the.5.20 and G. 25 p.m. trains from Lambton Station instead gf. from Thorndon Station."
The remit was -unanimously carried. : Mr. C. C. Crump (Onslow) moved:— (a) "That siiburban passenger trains from Paekakariki run through to Lambtori ,; . ; - : .
(b) "That the same service bo improved. Trains are needed between 9.25 n-.'ni.- and 1.20 p.m., between 1.20 and <I.1;j p.m.,. nnd bntv/oen fi'.2s and 10.20 p.m. That gajxi bo filled in by tlieninniug of a new potrol electric car from Wellington to 'Pbrima throe' times a day. Failing the electric oar, arrangements be made- at onco'ttf add a passpnger carriage to the 8 p.m. lugtrago train from Thorndon. Provide a Sun-day-train '.AVellington' to Jphnsonville 6.30 t0.G.30 p.m." . < .
