Y.M.C.A. V. SWIFTS.

After a capital game, played in the best; of spirit, y.:U.C.A. 'managed to defeat the veteran.Swifts by three goals to nil, at Kttbimie Park, on Saturday afternoon. It was a capital game from start to linish, marked by somo interesting play, on both sides. Attack was quickly turned into defence and some lively exchanges during the first spell made the game interesting to watch. Both goal-keepers were kept busy aivd they saved certain scores on: several occasions. Towards the end of the spell, how,over, Y.M.C.A.'s condition began to tell and- they forced- tlieir opponents back yard by yard. The Beds wero beaten and Hohertij taking advantage of an opening, shot, home, making tho score',Y.M.C.A., lj Swifts, -0. During the opening stages of, tho second half Swifts fought strenuously to score, but Y.M;C.A.'s defcnce was too solid. Subsequently a melee occurred in front of Swifts' goal and Carrutjjers had a shot. Penlington saved, Lut did not clear. Phillips happened to be handy and phced the ball in the net. This second reverse appeared to put netf\life into Swifts and they attacked strongly. .For some considerable timo Y.M.C.A. had their work cut out to keep their opponents at bay. Ultimately Y.M.C.A.'s forwards got away together. They went right through Swifts' defence , and Foote scored an unmistakable goal and the game ended, Y.M.C.A., 3; Swifts, 0. Mr. P. Kettlowell was referee. DIAMONDS V. WANDERERS. 'A fast open game resulted in tho meeting of Diamonds Wanderers on Kilbirnio Park. The Blacks were; too good for the Red-and-Whites, however, and won comfortably by 3 goals to nil. The game was very even right through iho first, spell and tho ball travelled from one end of the field to the other rapidly. On several occasions Diamonds were prevented from scoring by Webster (Wanderers'..goal-keeper). Ho played a sound resourceful game, and was a'credit to'his side. Tho first half was nearly over before Diamonds scored through the agency of Morrison. The second half had only been going about a minute when Liversedge ran through the Wanderers' forwards and backs and scored on his own. The lied and Whites 1 made strenuous efforts to scuro and attacked vigorously after this, but faulty shooting in front of the goal robbed them of '-many chances. Diamonds gradually worked the ball towards the opposite end' of the field, where Webster brought off some splenrlid saves. At last ho was beaten by Leakc.v and the game ended in favour of Diamonds by 3 goals, to nil. Mr. Astill was referee. JUNIOR CAMES. Fifth Division. Newtown Congregational defeated Amokura by 3 goals to 1. Fifth Division B. Wadestown won by default from Marist. . \ Sixth Division A. Marist H defeated Marist T by 4 goals to nilIN OTHER CENTRES. Everton beat North Shore by 3 goals' to 1; Thistle beat Corinthian by 4 goals to 1; Brotherhood beat Y.M.C.A. by 8 goals to- nil; the Adult School and Carlton played a pointless draw.
