JEWELLER'S ORDEAL
(Br Telegraph.—Pjsm Association,} Napier, June 12. Arnold Ashworth, a young man, ivns before the Court to-day on a charge of assaulting W. W. Brooks, with intent to commit ,i crime. Accused had selected some jewellery in Brooks's shop, and the latter was wrapping np tho articles when.the accused hit him a violent blow with a stone knotted in a handkerchief. Brooks grappled with tho man and called Mr assistance, Ashworth being taken into custody. He was. remanded for a week.
