Jackson, pleaded guilty to a charge of .theft «f Sijlb. of scrap brass, valued at 285., lhe property of J. J. Kivon and Co*, Ltd. Oiiief4M-ec:tiv© Broterg stated, that on March C dofciuJiiftt was employed as 5i labourer at Nivcus Foundry, awl, nftcr .working hours, ho took a- quantity of scrap brass and sold it to si second* hand deaier Jot 9s. Id. Accused's father Sward of the theft arid woat to the second-hand dealer., bought b-aek the brass, and returned it to Njven n-nd Co. Since 1907 accused had Been cob s'icied of theft m nine occasions, and, in 1911, no-tad been sentenced to sis nrerttlis' imprisonment for breaking and entering. Mr,. JiW.kso.vi stated that accused tad taken the brass in order to obtain (Hcvrey for a frie'ttd who desired to pro* coed to tho eatiutfy, He was a 'married mati_ with two children. Bis Worship sentenced the- accused to seven (Jays' imprisonment. THREATENING BEHAVIOUR, Fines of 10s. Were iflijsoseit on Joseph Albert Hay and James O'Brien, both of ivJkjdi admitted having behaved in a. threatening maimer in a public street. INSOBRIETY.
