Mr. Power, the famous restorer, and a member of the National Art Fund Committee, states that ' a Shropshire who bought a picture for a fair, price in Australia in 1884,' was unaware until now, when ho cleaned it, that tho portrait was of Titian by himself. _ '■■1t.,13 estimated to be-worth anything up to £100,000. - Only three other portraits of Titian by himself are known to exist. Tiziano Vocellio Titian (l-i77-157G) was one of the world's greatest painters, and a typical representative of the Venetian school. \ Pictures have reached enormous values in recent yeare, and among actual Pales record may be mentioned Turner's "Rockets and Blue Lights," 25,5f10 guineas, and Hals' portrait of a woman, 27,400 guineas. ' .
