DESERTERS SEIZE A STEAMER. AND ENCOUNTER DESTROYERS.

Leaving their rifles in barracks to allay suspicion, they embarked on a steamer as ordinary passengers. ■• When tho steamer was at sea they overawed the crew and ordered tho captain to proceed direct to Prevesa. Tho authorities were apprised of tlio desertion, and sent two destroyers to chase'-the steamer. Tho destroyers came abreast of tho steamer and ordered her to follow them. The Euzoncs refused, and a destroyer 'thereupon lay aoross the bows of the steamer. Euzbnos took the wheel, crashed into tho destroyer amidships, and then beached the vessel. The' deGcrtors disembarked, and started, to march across country, but wero finally persuaded to .surrender. They are now immured in an adjacent fortress, i ' . | RENEWED REPORTS. . Tho insurgents.insistcd on tho restoration of tho Turkish regime. Tho agitation against Prince William of Wied has spread to districts hitherto loyal. It is reported that a notorious insurgent chiel named Hiomet was caught and shot for attempting to induce the gendarmerie at Eldassan to, mutiny. Thero are renewed reports that Prince William is resigning.
