Rear-Admiral Peary suggests that Captain Robert Bartlettf should be despatched on a South Polar,expedition under American auspices. Admiral Peary lias received information that Captain Bartlett brought numbers of tho crew of tho lost Karluk safely to Wrnngel Island, and made a long, trying journey to obtain relief for them. He thinks it would bo a proper recognition to fit out an American expedition and place Captain Bartlett in charge.
