The monthly of the Petono Lynskey) stated that matters had proevening, Mr. J. Castle presiding. Tho report of tho director (Mr. J. Lynsky) stated that matters had procrossed favourably in connection with the establishment! of an- Upper Hutt branch of tho school, and that tho commitfceo there was practically assured of success. A suggestion that the teachers recommended by tho Upper Hutt Committee be approved was also made. A request that the director he allowed to make preliminary arrangements with •"regard to certain classes at Lower Hutt was'also contained in the'report. During the past month three girls had pass- ?;! tho examination for entrance to the Public Service. Tho following pupils had been awarded senior free places :— Ida Burd, Eric Brown, 11. Bond, A. Bond, It. Fraser, A. Johnston, 'M. Lusty, L. M'Gill, AY. o'Keby, W. Parker, G. Ross, -F. Shepherd, iind E. Wild. Sir. F. Do J. Cl'cro submitted tenders for additions to tho building, for the board's consideration, and aftor discussion, tho tender"of Jlr. B. Trcmain, ol l'etone, Wiis accepted.
