Mr. Hugh Roberts, 0110 of the promoters of the proposed Oroua and West Coast Freezing Works, near Foiklins, addressed n 'meeting of farmers at on Saturday evening. Mr. John Ra'.sillie presided. Mi. Robert* said that it was intended to proceed with I lie formation of the, company, when £/>o,ofio shares had been subscribed. The I'Vildino; movement, lie explained, had not boon started until aft-er the Palmerston mooting, called by Mr. Balsillio, had proved unsuccessful. It was proposed to orect works at Aorangi 011 a site favourably reported 011 by Mr. Mitchell, architect, and the prospects were exceedingly «:ood. The works would cost £GS.OO(J. It was provided that n holder of 1000 shares would have lii votes, but no extra votes were tciven for larger holdings, and it was thought that this would keep out the Meat Trust. Mr. Roberts received a vote of thanks for his visit and address.
