COURT INTERLUDE. An impromptu argument occurred in the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning, when Mr. J. E. W. Dickson, who was appoaring for a man who had been brought beforo tho Court by a mistake, applied for costs. Inspector Hondre.v objected to costs being granted, stating that the man who had heen brought beforo tlio Court had been noti.ficd of the mistake on the evening before, and should have informed his solicitor. Mr, Dickson: But I had left my office before my client was told of tho mistake. Inspector Hendrev: Then vour client could have notified you this morning before the Court commented. The Magistrate: Yes, the Court does not start till 10 o'clock, and ho could havo informed you before then. Mr. Dickson: But I did not get doivn to my office till a quarter to ten. At'this stage the wrongly-accused ono attempted to join in. but retired considerately on bcintr told to "keen quiet." The argument continued bv rapid interchange of scntencos between ' solicitor and poli:e, Mr. Dickson being persistent. "I allow the solicitor half a auinoa costs," said tho Jfucistrato at loiiKlb, and Mr, Dickson sat down.
