Prince Oscar, tho Kaiser's fifth sou, is engaged to Fraulein Bassewitz, formerly one of tho Kaisorin's ladies-in-waiting. The lady Was dismissed when the attachment was discovorcd. Tho Kaiser bitterly opposed it. Prince Oscar, on Sunday last, securod threo days' leave from the Guards at Potsdam, went to his fiancee at Meeklenbcrg, and to-day telegraphed to tho Kaiser announcing his engagement. Berlin, May 27. Tho Kaiser, in resnonso to tho Kaiserin's entreaties, has agreed to Prince Oscar's engagement.
