LOCAL BODIES' CONFERENCE.
Wednesday, July 8, is proposed by the Wellington Central Chamber. cf Commerce as the date for the conference of delegates from tho local bodies and Chambers.of Commerce of the Wellington province to. discuss matters of railway (deviation, opening up East Coast .lands, and improving main roads for motor traffic. Parliament wiU'opon its session, on Thursday, Juno 25, whilst' the Municipal' Conference "■willcommence, as far as can be ascertained, on Tuesday, July 14. lu.all probability three days will'be required for tho proposed conference, so that delegates may return to their homes on Saturday, July 11. Bodies sending, delegates are requested to forward remits for tho conference; not later than Monday June 8, in order that an agenda paper may bo prepared and issued to delegates at least three weeks before tho date of the conference. . Tho following bodies hayo notified their intention of being .represented:— Masterton, Palmerston North, Wellington, and Eketahuna Chambers" of Com-'' merce, Wellington City Council, Petono, Palmeristoh North, Miramar, Masterton, Lower Hutt, y Karori, Greytowu, Foxton, Eketahuna, and Eastbourne Borough Councils, Wellington Harbour Board, South Wairarapa County Council, Mauricevillo County Council, Masterton County Council, Featherston County Council, Eketahuna County Council, Tenui County Council, Horowhenua County. Council, Hutt, County Council, Upper ' Hutt Town ' Board, Martinborough Town Board, Johnsonville Town Board, Featherston Town Board, and Otnki Town Board.
