GOOD TEMPLARS

• The weekly meeting of the Hope of 1-etono Lodge of Good Teraplafs, No. 187,. was held in the Raiifurly Hall. Sydney Street, Pctone, lost night. Bro! Rose, C.T., presided over the" .meeting, winch was well attended.

Correspondence was received from the Huttr' Electorate- No-Licewsfi League rafiuesting tho Hope ~of Pctone Lodge or Good Templars to be present at a meeting which will be held in Itanfnrlv Hall, Petone, on Mc.mlav. May 25. The lodge unanimously decided to he present at the above meeting, and will help to-fight tho liquor traffic. s lt was decided that a letter of sympathy be sent to Bra. Jones, who lias sustained a loss in the death of one of the family circle.

The item for the evening, was iit charge of Sisters Andrews and Goer. Guessing competitions were held, items rendered, and parlour, games were indulged in. During the evening refreshments were handed round. A hearty voto of thanks was accorded the sisters for the manner in which- they conducted the evening.' A letter was, received from tiw district secretary, Sister H-igarl'sferd. notifying tliat Bro. N. Ingram, 8.C.T., in* tended to stand for the position of District Electoral Superintendent. The lodge was closed by Bro. P.ose, C.T„ at the usual closing time.
