RECORD SEIZURE OF OPIUM
IN A STEAMER'S COAL BUNKERS. By Telesraph—Press Association-Copyright Fremantle, May 19. A record soizure of opium—5001b., valued at over £5000—was made by tho Customs officials on board the steamer Ashburton from London, via tho Cape. Tho opium was discovered amongst tlio coal. • Tlio captain, the officers, find tlio crow (a number of whom aro Chinese) deny any knowledge of tho drug.
