Geographical Society's dinner Mr. Douglas ■ Freshfield, _ tho President, described Dr. Mawson's journey as being, from tho Scientific standpoint, the most fruitful of all tho Antarctic expeditions. Dr. Mawson, responding to tho toast of "Our Guests," said that tlio question of financo was the real tronblo in theso expeditions. Ho hoped to. givo a pre-, ciso account of his journey .011 Juno. Q. Tlio accounts which had hitherto been published in London had been meagro. SHACKLETON'S NAPOLEONIC ' CONCEPTION. London, May 18. In his presidential address before the lloyal Geographical Socicty, Lord Curzon said that tho Scott tragedy had cast a cloud over the brilliance of other Antarctic achievements. If Sir ' ErnestShackleton carried out his Napoleonic conception ho would add a final wreath to the others with which he had been crowned.
