British emigration during the first four months of 1914 shows tho following stato of the ebb and flow of population to tlio overseas dominions: — To Australia, 13,016, a decrease of 10,407 as compared with 1913; New Zealand, 2367, a decrease of 2513; .Canada, 31,601, a decrease of 35,329. UNEMPLOYMENT IN CANADA. IMMIGRATION TO BE RESTRICTED. (Rec. May 19, 10.25 p.m.) , Ottawa, May 18. Replying to an appeal by the unemployed, Mr. Borden (Prime Minister of Canada) declared that' tho policy of the Government was to restrict immigration as much as possiblo to farm labourers and agriculturists.
