GUILTY OF EMBEZZLEMENT
' TOWN CLERIC, IN; TROUBLE. (By, Tele^ranh.—Press Association) New Plymouth, May 19. In the Supreme Court to-day, AVilliam • !De Grouchy Ogier was fouiid guilty on - six charges of embezzling tho funds of tho Inglowood Borough' Council and the Moa Road Board, to which lie,had acted as clerk for some years. Tlio amount of the defalcations was over £500. He pleaded financial difficulties, dye to drink. Tho fury recommended : him to mercy, on the grounds that he had'repaid the money. Sentence-was deferred. 1
