Messrs. W. and G. Turnbull and Co.. Ltd., report having held their weekly sale in their Carterton sale yards on Friday, when they offered a. good yarding of eheep, cattle, and pigs, well above advertised ntrmbere. Competition was very animated, and there was a good clearance at the following rates:-On account Mr. \V. Henry Hooth, Middle l!un, 226 4, 6, and 8-tooth Romney ewes, in lamb to liomney rains, 18s. <!d.; fat forward ewes, 14s. lOd.; store ewes, 12s. 7d.; ,2-tooth ewes and wethers, 15s. lCd. to 165.; woolly lambs, 135.; medium, 10s. 3d.; small, 7s. 7d.: shorn lambs, medium, lCs. 5d.; small, sa. 10d. to 75.; halfbred wethers, 9s. 3d. Cattle: Fat cows, .£5 10s., £6 to £6 95.; forward store cows, £i, £4 10s. to £4 195.; store cows, £2 55., £2 155... , £3 25.. £3 10s.. £3 15s. to £3 195.; heifer, just calved, £6 lla; cow just calved, £6 11s.; cow, just calved, £6 le.; springing 3-year heifers (close to calving), £6, £6 10s., £6 16s. to £7; springing 2-ycar heifers. £4 12s. 6d.; heifers, duo factory dates, £3 55.; cows, dac factory dates, £4 15s. to £5 lto.; wearier steers. 355. Messrs. .Abraham and Williams, Ltd , tcport having held their monthly sale at Shannon on Friday last, when they yarded l«rgo entries of both sheep and cattle. Prices were quite in keeping with Tilling rates clsowhere. Nearly all lines were disposed of under the hammer, and altogether it was a very successful rale. The Komney owes in lamb offered on account of Mr. Barclay were a choice line, and realised 275. 0(1. Other.prices were:—Fat ewes. 17s. t<l.; forward ewes, 145.. 14s. 6d., 155.; woolly lamlio, 13s.
