SHEARER'S CONFERENCE.

The Shearers' Conference resumed its sittings on Saturday. Various remits from sheds were dealt with. The remit dealing; with tho question of the representation ofythe Maori members at the conference was fully discussed, and various speakers' emphasised their desire to see the Maoris fully represented by Maori delegates elected n> tho same'way as the European delegates wero elected. It was, unanimously resolved that the election of delegates to the conference be conducted on the same principles as last year. Tho resolution: "That Maori delegates should bo elected to the conference each year, but in the event of no member of tho Nativo raco being elected, the executive be granted power to appoint a Maori delegate," was held over for further discussion, and at a later stago was carried unanimously. A committee was set up to revise tlio rules and report to the conference, and another committee was set up to draft a scheme for amalgamation with tho A.W.U. and report to the conference. The secretary read correspondence received, including a telegram from the '"secretary of tho Sheepowners' Federation in reply to an inquiry; as to whether or not the Federation would accept an award made in ono industrial district as a Dominion award. The telegram read as follows: "President states that he will adviso respective Sheepowners' Unions to accept your suggestion, but. lie had no power to compel tliem to do so."
