THE BROWN SHIELD.
A communication has been received by the Council of the New Zealand Football Association from tlie Canterbury Association, suggesting that June 3 would be a convenient date for them to meet the Hawke's Bay Association in tlio contest for tho Brown Shield. This tho -Now Zealand Counoil will agree to, subject to the approval of tho Hawke's Bay Association. The shield is held by Canterbury at present.
