Page) declared that "it was timo all this tommy-rot about Empire Day was wiped out." Ho intended to entertain the children on the anniversary of. tho French Revolution, when the workers rerolted against tyraniiy, and would explain to tho children what that day meant. Tho council carried a resolution that tho citizens would most like to celebrato the day. by tho erection of a school in a certain street to replacc the present pigsty.
