He was very quiet all the week, and on Satur- <? day morning he was to have been taken « out. Witness saw' him at 2.80 p.m., and he was tlien suffering .from injuries to the head. In giving his verdict Coroner said that it was a most unfortunate caso. ' Thomas Black, chief cook of the ■steamer Whatigape, died iu the Welliiigton Hospital shortly before 10 o'clock last night.
