Tokio reports that an operator stationed on the south-west of Nagasaki, claims to i Imvo received a distress signal. Ail • American vessel also heard this, whilst ; for twenty-four ' hours merchantmen, ' warships, and land stations vainly , tried to get in touch with the Siberia. It was reported on' Sunday that wireless calls had been heard from the stea- ' mcr Siberia, which was off tho Formosiui j Coast, and in need of help. Tho vessel subsequently arrived at Manila, and ' could not account for tho distress signals " having been heard.
