MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING

Tho annual meeting of tho Corporation Employees' Miniature and Morristube Iliflo Club was held on Thursday, tho club captain, Mr. J. Rabe, being in tho chair. The following odicers were elected: —Patron, His Worship the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke); president, Mr. W. H. Morton; vice-presidents, City Councillors and Heads of Departments; club captain, Mr. R. Pringlo; vice-captain, Mr. W. J. Faulkner; secrotary, Mr. W. Tippon; treasurer, Mr. J. Brown. During tho year tho club fired twenty-six matches, and won fourteen, including a match for tho Gas Company Shield, which they won with a recent score for Morris-tube shooting. -During the year tho club ordered two miniature. rifles from England, and they are expected in time to start shooting by May 18. A hearty voto .of thanks was passed to His Worship tho Mayor, Mr. C. Collins, the City Treasurer, and Mr. J. Brown for donating trophies; also to Councillor Buddie, Mr. J. Ames, the City Valuer, and Mr. C. Schauor for subscriptions to tho club funds;,also to tho City Councillors for granting tho range site, Messrs. W. H.. Morton, Kerslake, J. Rabe, J.'Dimes, Bennett, and Leslie. The annual meeting of the Wellington Working Men's Club Morris Tube Shooting Club was hold last Friday. Mr. iM'Bain (captain) was in the chair, and there was a largo attendance of members. Officers for tho year wore '. elected as follow: —Captain,- Mr. Gid; dens; vice-captain, Mr. C. Griffiths; treasurer, Mr. J. Flynn; secretary, Mr. U Finucan'e; committee. Messrs. Baker, M'Gill, and Ryder. Special mention was made of the services rendered by the retiring captain (Mr. M'Bain), who has.held the position for threo years, and who expressed the hope, .though 'retiring from tho captaincy, that he. would always take a working interest in the club's affairs. The '.club has imported three of tho latest Morris Tube rifles.
