Sir.—l hope the Red Feds aro satisfied ; but of 40,000 persons entitled to : vote they can. only tlirash up something over 4000 supporters. It is safe te say that not a dozen of those who failed to vote would have voted "Red," sa we- sec the pitiable spectacle of "a party who blazed from tho roof-tops that the pu.hlic.was with them, gummg a paltry 10 p«r cent, of votes of those oil the roll.

I That shows emphatically Wellington's i view of the strike, and should put fresh ' heart into those doleful prophets who are- always led away by natch mouthing and noise, who have been predicting ruin for all Government candidates for Wellington seats. If screaming abiiso could get a man into Parliament, the House Would bo full of lied Feds, but, uiilflrtmiatdy for them, it won't. The only thing I cannot understand is that out of 15>000 persons who voted against the violent strike fomenters there were not sufficient men to he 'found to subdue the strike without any outside help. History has shown what arrant cowards most of the strike leaders proved to bo when faced by resolute and determined toen. and as a Wellington man, I shall always feel keenly the disgrace- dr having te call in farmers and their sons to lu'-ln defend our rights and liberties,-<-I am, etc., CITY SPECIAL :
