Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report haying' held their Hutt salo nn Thursday, when they offered a heavy yarding of, both sheep and cattle. Buyers attended in large numbers, and - a spirited 6ale resulted. The special entry of sheep and cattle on account of Mr. C. Greenfield brought excellent prices. Tho following sales wore effected Sheep: Fat ewes, 18s. 9d. to 205.; f .f.m. breeding ewes, 16s. Bd. to 16s, 10d.: medium woolly Jambs, lis. 3d.: small woolly lambs, Cs. lid. to 9s. Id.; culled 2-tooths. 13s. 9d.; forward lambs, 13s. 7d. Oattle: Cows: close to profit, £7 18s. to £9; spring heifers, £6 to £9; cows, late calvcrs, £5 15s. to £6 17s. 6d.; fat cowa, £6 to £7 18s.: forward cows, £4 18s. to £5 10a.; mixed woanors, £1 10s.; 9 extra, good weancr heifers on account of Mr. Greenfield made tho satisfactory prico of £2 13s. 6d. Competition for the first few pens was 6omcwhat slow, but brightened up as the sale proceeded, and continued animated right through tho sale. A splendid clearance was made, at prices which must have -been very satisfactory to a few vendors.
