EAST COAST AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY
The annual report of the'Wairarapa and East Coast Pastoral and Agricultural Society states that the past year proved a very successful one for the society. Tho 38th ohoff held October 29 was a record one, and the report congratulates' members on its success, particularly in regard to the show of stock. Tho thanks of the committee are due to Mr. D. Donald,. who provided a paddock for tho ploughing match, which was largely attended. The report goes on to thank douors of prizes and trophies, also the judges and stewards, all of whom helped' materially towards'the conduct of the annual show. Mention is also made of the society's intention of purchasing a section of land adjoining tho show grouud gates, which will provide increased accommodation at the entrance. The balance-sheet shows the society to bo in a very healthy position. The annual meeting of the society is to be held at Carterton oil Saturday morning next.
