Messrs. Dalgcty and Co.. Ltd., ITaetftrt-on, report having held a very successful sale at Solway on Wednesday, when there wae a very fair yarding of both sheep and. cattle. On account of Messrs. Barton Bros., Jlataikona, we 6old 48 cattle, fat bullocks realising up to £10 17s. 6d. and forward cows, £6 Iβ. Details of tfco prices realised are as follow.-tShcep: ra.s., 7a.; m.3. woolly lambs, 7s. 4d., 10s. 3d.; small B.F. lambs 9a. 6d.; fat ewes, 17s. 9d. Cattle: Bullocks, £7 10s. and £8; fat-bul-locks, £10 and £10 17s. 6d.; forward empty cows,' £6'ls.; cow and calves, £6 3s. 6d.; empty store cows, £4 • lls. and £5 165.; empty fat cows, £7 Sβ. ; empty heifers. £3 125.; weaner steers, to 335. A nice lino of 4-year ewes in lamb to S.I), rams, offered on account of Mr. J. Hudson, realised the satisfactory-price of 19s. 3d. Messrs. W. and G. Turnbull and Co., Ltd.-., 'report having held their weekly sale at their AVaipoua 'iMasterton) -sale yards, on Wednesday, when they offered a Rood yarding of sheep, cattle, and pigs, as advertised. Bidding at auction was very spirited, consequently- there was a total clearance at tho following rates ewes, 15i3. Bd.; forward ewes, 13s, lCd., 15s. 3d. to 15s. 5d.; store owes, 10s. -5d.; woolly lambs, 15s. to 14a. 9d.; K.F. lambs, lls. 3d to 12s. Pigs: Weaners. Bs., 9s. 6d. to We.; porkers, 27s- 6d.
