The Whareroto Estate, adjoining .-the H.iirarapa Lake, recently advertised in The DojiiNiofr, was offered by public auction on April 18 by Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd.., Masterton. Three of the sections were sold under the hammer, and the balance since privately at tho vendor's reserve prices, ttie whole estate being disposed of in one week.; All of the purchasers intend dairying on the property, on which ' there is a cheese factory erected, and generally speaking it is considered the.prices realised are ■reasonable. The area. of ■ tlie' sections, names of purchasers, etc., are as follow:—Section No. 1, 100 .acres 3 roods, Campbell Smith, Martinborough, £34 os.; Section 2a, 2b, 210 acres 3 roods, Thos. Ayery, Paliiatua, £15; Section 3, 189 acre's 1 rood, M. Alpass, Pahiatua, £34; Section 4, 219 a'cres, 1 rood.'MV Alpass, Pahiatua, £15; Section 5, 185 acres, B. Avery, Pa]iiatuaj £24 os.; Section 7, 207 acres 2 roods 36 perches, S. Spencer, Martinborough, £30. . The cheese factory is erected on Section 6, 1 acre 14 perches, winch was not offered, but handed to tho purchasers, and will possibly bo run on cc operative lines.
