BIBLE-IN-SCHOOLS. At tho lirst. two of the foregoing meetings tho following resolution on tho Bible-in-Schools question ivas carried unanimously:—"ln accordance with the decisions of the General and Diocesan Synods, this annual meeting of parishioners again .pledges its support to tli6 objective of tho Bible-in-State-Schools League, and once mow requests r that a referendum of tho wnolo people of the Dominion be taken upon the question. This meeting oxpresses tho conviction that, inasmuch as tho referendum has been repeatedly requested by tho respective governing courts of four donominations representing 75 per cent, of the population, which request has been reiterated by the constituencies of those denominations, and further endorsed by n request in writing, signed by upwards of 133,000 individual electors, tho Government is more than amply justified in facilitating tho wishes of such a largo proportion of the people. Moreover, ;i3 tho request is not asking the Government to decide on the merits of tho league's proposals, but to allow the pooplo.of tho Dominion to come to ft decison themselves on tho matter, this meeting would, regret any action on tho part of the Government which by having this question standing over would thereby constitute it a disturbing factor at the next general election."
