NELSON. Nelson, April *j. The city mayoral election resulted:— W. Lock (retiring .Mayor), 1050; W. W. Snoctgrass, 1017. The resuit is indefinite in view of the recount to-morrow. A poll was also taken through, the -harbour district on the proposal to borrotv £35,000 to .carry out an improvement scheme. With several booths to come, there is a majority of .173 for the proposal. A three-fifths majority is required. The. final result will' 'not beavailable to-night. Mr. G. K' Cnisnall was* elected Mayor of Kichniond, receiving 180 votes to Mr. James Hunter's 171.

At Motucka. Mr. IC. P..G. Moffatt was elected Mayor by 158 votes, as against 89 polled for Mr. H, Fry.
