CONSUMPTION CURES
TROUBLE IN WEST AUSTRALIAN
HOSPITAL
By TelesraDli—Press Aseociation—Copyrient Perth, April 29. Tho Hospital Board has discussed an attack by a newspaper on the conduct of the Consumptive Hospital at AVest Subiaco, and has decided to ask tho Government to undortake an independent inquiry.
There has been trouble over Dr. Paget leaving for England to forward his consumption cure, on tlio alleged ground that the Government did not afford an adequate opportunity of testing the cure ; _ ' Dr. Gordon, honorary physician to the hospital, states that tho cure consists of tlio insertion in the nose of two metal props, to dilate the external nasal openings as widely as possible, and drying in the sun the patient's own, sputum, the powder of which is inhaled into the nose like snnff. Dr. Gordon adds that the Government has given Pγ. Paget every facility.
