F. Gale, C. E. Kridgi;. W. A. Fordham, H. D.' -Smith, J, E'. Staples, X. Coffey, W. W. Cook, D. li. Hoggard, and W. G. Talbot (secretary). A hitter received from the Hawke'r Bay Amateur Boxing Association, stated that at a recent jiweting it was resolved: "That the Hawko's Bay Amateur Boxing Association is in entire accord with tho Wellington Boxing Association that a properly constituted board of control bo sot up t« govern besing throughout the Dominion, and to lay down a policy for the management of the sport.". The letter was received. Gus. Venu, .sparring partner t» Fred. Welsh and ffid Lewis, wrote- from Auckland, asking |for # niateli witis any feather-weight. It was decided to note his appl-i&i* tion. A letter was ■received stating that the New Zealand light-weight, J.' Hag. arty, was prepared to meet F. ©"Grady, of Melbourne, _ The chairman reported that the asso- | ciatian was awaiting a reply from its ■ Australian representative (Mr. Lawless) as to whether O'Grady was available. ■ Advice was received that the Town ■ Hall _ will bo available for tlio Boxing , Carnival (amateur championships) nn June 6 and 7. Tho profits from the fixture are to go to tho Citizens' Carnival Fund. In connection with this fixture, it was decided that the prices of admission be fixed at 45,, 35.., and 2s. Sir. C. £. Bridge moved: "That two judges ho appointed for the fixture-, that they givo their decision's iit writing to tho announcer, that, in tho event of ihoir not being uu-finimous, the anttotiscer shall appeal for a verdict to the referee, whose deci-sioa shall bo final." This was seconded by Mr, W. A, Fordham, and carried. ■■ Messrs, J. E. Staples . and-. 0. E. Bridge were appointed Judges for the meeting, and Mr. W. Beauchaniu Platts was appointed referee. A. Lanrenson and L. \y". Ludlwig. On tho motion of Mr. Gale, it was decidad that Mr. E. A. BlunicTPs trophy be awarded to the most- scientific boxer competing at the tournament.
