TASMANIA'S POLITICAL CRISIS
GOVERNOR'S ACTION REVIEWED
BY SIR FREDERICK POLLOCK
By TeleErapk—Press Association—CoDyrieht London, April 26. Sir Frederick Pollock, the well-known authority on jurisprudence, interviewed regarding the Tasmauian crisis, said that lie had not heard of any precedent for the- action of Sir W. G. EllisonMacartney, the Governor of Tasmania, in forcing a dissolution on tha newlychosen Labour Premier. Although the Crown's prerogative to dissolve Parliament existed, said Sir Frederick Pollock, it was never used. He did not think that Sir W. G. Ellison-Macartney had any right to attach conditions to the formation of a Ministry. In his opinion the Assembly's vote of censure went near to asking for the Governor's recall.
