LABOUR MINISTER'S CHALLENGE TO STRIKERS
THE "BLACKCHAFF" DISPUTE

Referring to tlio "black" chaff dispute, lie said: "I cannot consent to the abdication of Executive Government. iirnl tho placing of it in tlio hands of nil irresponsible body. Tlio railways belong not to a few hundred workmen, but to tho producers and consumers of thoStiito generally, and must be, worked in their interests."
Mr. Griffith has instructed the engineer in charge of tho Wagga lino to recommence carrying produco immediately. Carters return to work. (Rec. April"-21, .8.50 p.m.) Sydney, April 21. Tho chaff carters' strike has been settled. The men returned to work this afternoon as tho result of an interview ivith Mr. Holman, who promised to endeavour when Parliament meets to havo tho Australian Workers' Union included in the schedule of the State Arbitration Act.
