CITY BAND'S CONCERT.
His Majesty's Theatre was m>ll filled last evening when tho City Band, under the directorship of Lieutenant T. Herd, gavo an interesting concert, Tb.o programme was popular in character. The most pretentious band selection was ati "Operatio Bouquet" arranged by Deng* las on airs from some of tho older grand operas, which was played with some distinction. Tho band also played the marches "Tho New Ideal' 1 (Brown) ■ aftd "The- Royal Fusiliers" (Baj-ner), and the intermezzo "Tho Daisies' Song" (Castollono). Mr. P. L. Minifra contributed a bright piccolo solo "Tho Lark" (Damaro). Mr. Hamilton Hodßfla who was in good form sang with his customary caro nnd good expression ''Tho Silver Uinp" (Ohaniijlads), "A Song of Sloep" (Somerset)., "Two Ey&s of Groy" (as an encore), and "Los Rameaux" (FauroV Mr. i>. J, Evans, a light tenor, whoso tono and. cnwelatien aro not impeccable, conirihntcj the ballads "Long Ago" and "Tte Old Minstrel."
