MASTERTON. At a, meeting of tho Wairarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board' yesterday, Mr. E. G. Eton-was-unanimously.' re-elected chairman. The board decided to bring the question of uniformity in .nurses' salaries before the conference of delegates from hospital boards. The salary of Inspector Keay was increased by £25 per year. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £2359 10s. 2d, The Central Committee was' requested to bring down or report on the question of utilising tho services of the health inspectors for tho collection of outstanding patients' foes. The estimates for tho ensuing year were considered aaid adopted. Those provide for a sum of £7644 to bo raised by levy and subsidy for tho ensuing year. During tho year ended March 81 last thirty-nine cases of scarlot fever, throo of tuberculosis, and one of typhoid fever were reported ill the borough of Mastorton. Tho averago daily cost per head nf maintaining patients in the Wairarapa hospitals was lower last year than in tho provious year.
