Mr. W. T. Mills, national organiser for the Social-Democratic party, opened the meeting. Ho said that in the event, of Mr. Holland 'being unable to stand. Mr. J. Glover,' manager of .the "Maoriland Worker." would "be the official candidate for the party. While Mr. Mills was speaking. Mr. Holland addressed two small meetings, in one case ho had been asked to speak by tiie Seventh Day Adventists. At both meetings votes of thanks and confidence were passed unanimously. At nine o'clock Mr, HoHaiid arrived hack from his small gatherings, and j spoke till the- finish of the meeting, which closed at about 10 p.m. At the close of the meeting Mr. Holland was given three hearty cheers.
