TENNIS RESULTS & CRICKET (By Tela ttaph.—Preaa 'AssocldUon.i Chrlstchurch, April 14. The lawn tennis championships in connection with the Now Zealand University tournament were concluded today. Results: — ■ Men/ts Champion Singles. Semi-final.— J. T. Laurcnson (Canterbury College) boat E. B. Andreao (Otago University), 2—6, 6—l, 6—4. Filial.— J, L. Lnurenson (Canterbury College) beat N. Gotz (Canterbury College), 4—6, 6—3, 6—3. This was a splendid game, tho standard of play being very high indeed. Men's Doubles. Semi-finals;—Gotz ' and Laurenson (Canterbury) beat Hart and Paterson (Otago), 6—4, 6—4; Parsonson and Abernethy (Canterbury) beat Andreae and Jenkins (Otago), 6—2, 6—4. Final.—Abernethy and Parsonson beat. Gotz and Laurcnson, 6—4, 6—4. Ladies' Champion Singles. Semi-finals.—Miss Button (Canterbury) beat Miss Wheleh (Otago), 9—3; Miss. Bain (Canterbury) beat Miss Totnpki.u.s-(Auckland), 9—5. Final.—Miss Sutton (Canterbury) beat Miss Bain (Canterbury), 9—6. Ladies' Champion Doubles. Second Round.—Misses Sutton and Wright (Canterbury) beat Misses Lawry and Sievwright (Victoria College), 9—^7. A 1 meeting of football players from the font colleges was held to-day, and it was decided to. play two matches against tho Sydney University team in Wellington, two in Christehureh, and two in Dunedin. Of these matches one in each case would be against the local University, two against New Zealand University, and ono against a metropolitan team. Annual Ball. The annual University ball was held to-night, and was largely attended by local students and-visitors.
