IHOTOR-CAR DRIVER ARRESTED

■, (By Telegraph.—Preei 'Association.) Napier, April 14. 'A thrilling incident, in which a revolver was used, occurred on the Awatoto Road about a milo from Napier on Monday night. A motor-car had been removed without authority from Napier Park during the progress' of' the ruotor-cyclo sports there on Easter Monday, and was found about nino o'clock tho same night by tho owner at Awatoto with a.drunken man lying alongside- it. Another man was seen crouching.near by, and was approached and asked why lie had stolen the car. Be immediately becamo very excited, calling out: "I'll shoot, I'll ' shoot," later discharging a revolver at the owner of the car, and two others who had joined in the search with him. The mail then jumped' into the car end drove- away. The nmtter wds reported to the police, and Detective-Sergeant Kemp and- three constables went in .The car was found about one a.m. ,A man named Roy King, a motor driver, residing at Port Ahuriri, was arrested to-' , jiight and charged with attempted mur- ■ der and theft of the car.
