UPPER HUTT TOWN BOARD.

The Upper H«tt Town Board met on Monday evening, Commissioner Robertson presiding in tho ahsciice- of the chairman, Commissioner Webb. There were also present:—Commissioners H. V. Benge, T. Edwards, and A. J. M'Curdy.

Tho Minister of Esilways forwarded a claim ,for £730, being i'lio proportion of cost apportioned te the town district of Upper Hutt in respect of the Hutt Road. It was resolved to ascertain from the Town Clerk, Wellington, if any joint action was being taken to contest tho cjaim. The Secretary of Internal Affairs atl<ised that a gazetted Orclcr-in-Council extended the hours of pollin« to 7 p.m. in all future polls and elections within the town district in terms of • the amending Act of 1913.' The application of the Wellington Racing Club for water supply was hold over for a full hoard meeting.

A. Willis and W. Hogg, who will represent tlio brigade. ' W. H.
