MARKING WOOL PACKS.

The Wellington Chamber of Commerce yesterday .received a letter from- the Canterbury Chamber stating that the Christchurch importers of wool-packs had decided that it would be of great advantage if the various' sizes were marked by distinguishing stripes, say —54in. Jin. red stripe, 48in. two }in. red stripes; 46in. Jin. blue stripe; 42in. in two iin. blue stripes.' If this waa adopted, stated'the letter, much trouble and inconvenience in measuring packs to ascertain tho tare would bo obviated. The Christcluircb Chamber had been asked by the Christch,urch Woolbrokors' Association- to take stops to have tho method adopted by all importers of wool packs in the Dominion, and the IVelliugtou Chamber was requested to hring tho matter under the notice of importers here, with the idea of gaining their concurrence hi a uniform scheme. The letter has been'forwarded to the "Wellington Wool Brokers' Association, end will bo discussed at the next monthly meeting of the association. Tho Chamber of Commerce decided to let tho matter stand over pending reply of the Wcol Brokers' Association. . .
