SCOUTMASTERS DISAGREE
NEW ORGANISATION MOOTED. (By Telejrapli.—Press Association.) Auckland, April 7. Trouble aroae at a meeting of Scoutmneters held on Saturday evening as a result of which it appears that the district commander and over 100 Boy Scouts and a number of Scoutmasters havo seceded.- from the movement in Auckland. At the meeting, it. appears, discussion turned on tho recent appointment of the district commander. It was suggested that several Scoutmasters wero endeavouring to harass the commander in every manner possible. Towards the close of the meeting thc-ro was a good deal of heated argument and finally the chairman, Mr. G. Thorp, stated that his position as commander of tho district was purely an honorary ono and -he would therefore no longer tolerate continued interferences. lie there-
upon withdrew, stating that ho would send i' l bis resignation. Five Scoutmasters also left the meeting and have to-day forwarded tliflir resignations together with those of tho officers and boys of their troops to tho Dominion Chief Scout. Tho Scoutmasters who havo resigned intend holding a meeting shortly with the idea of forming an execntiye that will act as a nucleus of a fresh Scout organisation at Auckland.
