The end of 'the. fourth spell found Hawke's Bay attacking with tindiminished vigour, and, soon after, Ormond scored for them.- . Poverty Bay kept matters lively for some time. Hawke's Bay attacked strongly when the fifth spell opened, but a- splendid Poverty Bay rush took the ball dangerously near the Hawke's Bay goal. Then R. Sherratt, following up a rush, scored. Poverty-Bay/ 3—l, The sixth spell opened with a fast rush by Poverty Bay, followed by an equally, fast one by Hawke's Bay. A fino bit of play by Murphy brought ,tho ball in close proximity to_ the Hawke's Bay goal, but, in a few minutes,-it was at the other end.
