Admiral Palandor, ohaiiman of the Antarctic Committeo of tiio Society of Anthro.po.lgy and Geography, has outlined ihp plana ot the Swedish expedition, which is to cost 270,000 kroner (roughly £12,000). _ The expedition is expected to start in the summer of 1915, and will ho ab'eont for five yeara. There will be sis scientists in the party, including two 'Englishmen. Half the cost is> provided by the British Miisoum and Royal Geographical Society. The scientific collection will be divided between. Sweden and England.

Admiral Palander's expedition is intended to complete Nordonskjold's investigation of Grahamland. The base will be established on the cast coast of Antarctic Sound, Special attention will be paid to the mountain range, and its possible connection with tho mountain system.of South America, and also to fossil formations, glacier process, and atmospheric variations,

Tho station at Graham Land will bo - prqyjded-'.wiHr woodon houses, a full complement of instruments for meteorology and wireless telegraphy, do? teams, and motQ]>l>oats. ■Communication'with tho outer world will be kopt up by specjul nrraiißement with tho whaling'ships which frequent the coasts of Graham Land every season, and wiiicS will reprovision the station. The Antarctic Committeo ' estimate tho cost of the expedition at,U70,000 kroner (iilS.OOO), and the Government has included a grant of half that amount in the Estimates.
