THE LADY OF THE CUE.
MISS ROBERTS AT FEDERAL CLUB. Miss Ruby Roberts, tho world's lady champion billiard player, again demonstrated her ability as. a cueist at the Federal Club last evening. The club went to considerable trouble in decorating the billiard-rooni for the occasion. Ladies formed a largo proportion of those present, and were exceedingly interested in .the play. Miss Roberts stated that, in all her tours,, she could not remember having a bet*tor reception than sho had last night. A gamo -of 500 up was play«d between Miss Roberts ami Mr. W. A. ITordham. The lady played consistently throughout, and "won easily, the scores being:—Miss Roberts, BOO; Mr. Fordhain, 273. "Whilst supper was being served Miss Roberts consented to play a game of snooker with tho Hon. F. M. B. Fisher, a very exciting gameresulting in Miss Roberts ( again 'winning by 'the narrow margin of due point. A short musical programme was contributed by Miss SanderSj Mrs, Hanify, and Messrs. Hamilton, Gosling, Zachariah. and Read. Mr. Fisher, in the course of a short speech, congratulated Miss-Roberts'on her excellent display, arid wished her every success in her World's tour.
