Dalgely and Company's list, accounted for 1,760,969 bales, or for 130,760 bales more than during the corresponding, period in the 1912-13 season. The groat inoreaee was in the Sydney market, and there was also a gain in Melbourne, -but'a decreasb'at tho New Zealand sales. GOJiD OUTPUT. The gold yield of the Commonwealth for e K ,? rß „ t two month s of the year totalled 547,973 line ounces, or 1751 ounces greater than the aggregate for the corresponding period of 1913. The production, in each of the States of the Commonwealth and New Zealand compare as under:—
The comparison discloses a gain of 1984 fine oz. in the Victorian, yield, an increaseof 10,375 flue oz. in the quantity won in Western Australia; a decrease of 9157 fine oz. in the production of the metal in Queensland, and a gain of 39 fine oz in the output of New South Wales mines. In New Zealand the quantity won was ICE 3 fine oz. larger than the yield for the Janunry-Fcbrfiary term in 1913. and including th" Dominion figures in the calculation, tho difference shown by the comparison is 2314 line oz. in favour of 1914, the improvement noticeable in the latest aggregate returns being an ab6cnt feature from similar compilations for many previous months.
