ID-WEEK CONTROL'S, REPORT.

The seventh annual report of tho Wed- 1 nesday Hockey Association states that thero were five clubs affiliated last year, with a total membership of 114 active members. Six'teams competed for the Whito Cup, as against five teams in the previous year. This competition resulted in a tio between the Petono and Pakeha Clubs, and in the play-off, after a keen game, Petonrwero returned winners by 3to 2. This being the third successive win for the Petono Club, the cup has now become their property. Thirty-six teams entered, comprising thirteen from ladies' clubs, and seven senior,'and sixteen junior men s teams. Tho winners in the different sections wero as follow: —Ladies: Girls College. Men's senior: Palmcrston North Post- and .Telegraph. .-■ -Men's, junior: Hutt Valley. The annual six-a-sido tournament was hold on October 8, ten teams competing. Thd Pakeha A team was- again successful-in annexing the O'Karie Banner and. gold medals. This is tho fourth win for Pakeha A 6ince tho tourney was inaugurated five years ago. During.the season four representative matches were played—two in Wellington and ono each m Palmerston North and Wanaanui. The first match W against tho Saturday seniors, who proved too good for our players, says tho report, as . the score, 7' to 2, indicated. Tho second match was against a Horowheuua combination, and. resulted in our favour, the score being-4 to 1. In September a team-went north, but failed to securo any honours, being defeated by Mariawatu, and drawing' with Wauganui. The annual smoke concert was held on October 8, Hvhen the trophies won during the season were presented by tho president, Mr. J. C. Cusack. During the., course of the evening, Messrs. Empson and Pfaff announced their intention of each presenting a silver cup for competition. Mr. Empson's cup is to take the place of the Whito Cup, and Mr. Pfaft's will go to tho rumiers-up. Neither may bo won outright. Tho balance-sheet shows tho' totarassots to be £18 10s. 10d., and the liabilities nil. On behalf of tho association, we wish to tender hearty congratulations to tfic New Zealand Ladies' Hockey Association, for their enterprise in securing a visit from an English team.
