I—— RUGBY RULES. THE PONEKE CLUB'S KIEETINC The animal meeting of iho I'onokc Kusb.y Football Club was held at Scott's Booms, Manners Street, last evening, Dr. A. K. Newman, M.P., presiding over an attendance of about cighty uicinbcrs. The annual report (already published) and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £20. Thirty-seven new members were elected. The election of officers resulted as follow: —President, Dr, Aj K. Newman, M.P.; vice-presidents, Drs. AV. E. Herbert and P. Mackin, and Messrs, A. F. Wireii, A. H. TiirnbiiU, K. A. Dawson, T. K. Burgess, AV. Brown, J. U. Muir, G. Deslaiides, AV. Connor, 11. Sommervillo, AV. H. Robinson, W. Larkin, M. Crombie, and P. Laurcnsoa; club captain, Mr. A. Griffiths; treasurer, Mr. C. Mitchell; secretary, Mr. It. -B. Magee; gymnasium committee, Messrs. AYsrefl, Wilkinson, and Mficliell; selection com- i mittee, Messrs. C. Mitchell, A. OLD BOYS, At the annual meeting of the Old Boys' Club, Dr.. \V, Young presided, and : there were about tweuty-tivo members present. The chairman moved the adoption of tho report and balance-sheet, remarking upon tho satisfactory financial position of the club. The only drawback, hesaid, was that the club had been miablo to enter a senior team hi the competitions. On the othei\ band, the teams actually playing had done exceedingly vi'cli. The motion was ear. ried without debate. Twenty-one new playing members, and four new honorary members were reelected. The election of officers resulted as follows-.—President, Mr. J. P. Norris, G. Gray, jind C. AVillianisoW. Tho usual donation- of £5 os. was voted to the college ground hunl. BERHAMPORE CLUB. The first annual report of tho Bcrhamporo Football Club states that the club have had a very successful e«asoii both financially and .ffoiu a playiiig point of view. The finances show a credit balance of £10'3s. 4d. The thirdclass team wero runnors-up 'for the third-class championship, having oho loss and one draw out of a total of fifteen matches played,
tho fourth-class championship,, ha.rii.ig ono loss and one draw out of a total of twolvo matches .played. Tho drawn gamo was with the winners , of tho championship (I'ctone). During tho season tho club sent a third and fourth class team to Uliristclifireli, and competed iit tho sewn a side toiiriM.ffi.ent there. Both teams succeeded in getting in tho seini-Jinal, but wcro both defeated by three points tr» nil—a very satisfactory performance.
